A Prayer for the Health-Challenged

Post op day number one, after my 12-hr bilateral mastectomy with microscopic surgery for DIEP reconstruction, I could still manage a smile. Thanks to continuous pain medication to my vein, good doctors, and nurses. 12/2011

I am bowed and brought very low;
All day long I go about mourning.
My back is filled with searing pain;
There is no health in my body.

I am feeble and utterly crushed;
I groan in anguish of heart.
All my longings lie open before you, Lord;
My sighing is not hidden from you.

––——Psalm 38:6-9 TNIV
